2026 Scottish Parliament election
We campaign to achieve positive change in legislation and public policy for people living with mental health problems across Scotland.
The Scottish Parliament election on Thursday 7 May 2026 is your opportunity to shape the actions of the next Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government.
With Scotland experiencing a mental health crisis we want to ensure that mental health is high on the agenda of all Scottish political parties and the next Scottish Government during – and after – the 2026 Scottish Parliament election.
Taking Action for Scotland’s Mental Health
This is why we have published our manifesto which calls for:
- action to improve the life expectancy of people with mental illness
- more funding for mental health
- enhanced community mental health support
- support for children and young people’s mental health
- better resourcing for suicide prevention.

Voting in the Scottish Parliament Election
Voters at the election will choose Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) and determine which political party, or parties, form the next Scottish Government. The Scottish Parliament and Government have responsibility for important policy areas impacting all our lives, including mental health. You can read a full list of devolved policy areas which the Scottish Parliament is responsible for.
We believe everyone, including people living with mental health problems, should be able to access their right to vote and take part in the political process. We encourage you to take this opportunity to make your voice heard and vote in the election, whether in person, by post or by proxy.
