Scotland’s Home of the Year judge Anna Campbell-Jones has introduced viewers to a groundbreaking mental health hub with a behind-the-scenes video ahead of its official opening in Glasgow next week.
The Nook is Scotland’s first ever national network of free walk-in mental health support hubs, giving people experiencing mental health problems a place to ask once and get help fast.
The Nook has been carefully created to be a welcoming, comfortable and safe space for people experiencing mental health problems to visit, and the celebrity interior designer has been a key member of the team.
Anna Campbell-Jones said: "It's been wonderful to see The Nook come to life and really exciting that it's ready to open and welcome visitors from Thursday 23rd October.
"We wanted to create a space where people could walk in, sit down, maybe pick up some information, get some support, and just feel safe.
"It's the kind of thing you dream about being involved in as an interior designer and it's a subject very close to my heart.
"I hope people find it welcoming, accessible and safe. And I hope they give it a 10."
In the video, Anna Campbell-Jones introduces viewers to a kitchen table which replaces the reception desk, showcases The Nook’s wellbeing wallpaper, and sits in a “snug” which is a place for confidential conversations.
Echoing her hit TV show, she signs off by saying she hopes everyone who visits will give it a 10.
The largest mental health charity initiative in Scotland’s history, The Nook will provide barrier-free access to mental health support. There will be no need to book an appointment, no need for NHS referrals, and no waiting lists. Anyone looking for help can walk through the door whenever they need to.
The Nook in Glasgow will open at Brunswick House, 51 Wilson Street, Glasgow and become the first in a new national network of walk-in mental health support hubs across Scotland, with Nooks to follow in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverclyde and Lanarkshire.
