Fundraising
Fundraising in schools, colleges and further education.
Are you considering fundraising to support Scotland’s mental health? We have lots of ideas to help you get started.
To continue changing, and saving, lives, SAMH needs your help now more than ever.
Could you raise vital funds for Scotland’s mental health? Do you want to have fun while making a difference to the lives of people who need us most? There are lots of ways that your school, college or university can get involved and our fundraising team would love to support you along the way.
You could organise an event as part of your course, like a wellbeing or dress down day. Or, if you are part of a sports club or society, you could fundraise as part of your group. You could even use your fundraising ideas to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing in your school, college or university.
Key dates to bear in mind include:
- Children’s Mental Health Week in February each year
- Mental Health Awareness Week in May each year
- World Mental Health Day on 10th October each year
The money you raise will help to fund vital services, promote positive mental health and deliver lasting change for Scotland’s mental health. Whatever you decide to do, we’d love to be part of your team. Get in touch at fundraising@samh.org.uk.

Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI)
If your school takes part in the YPI programme we would love to tell your pupils more about the work of SAMH in their local community. We would be happy to organise a phone call or meeting with pupils to help them learn more about looking after their own mental health and the work we do in your area.
