SAMH is looking for people to join our established teams providing individual support to adults with a variety of complex needs/support and homelessness. The successful candidates will enjoy working with people and have a positive attitude and commitment to making a difference in the lives of the people we support.

As a support worker with SAMH your duties will include providing direct emotional & practical support, advice and encouragement in all areas of everyday living to promote independence. A commitment to person centred approach and a recovery focus is essential along with experience of working with vulnerable adults.

This role can be challenging and rewarding at the same time so you’ll not only need good communication skills but also patience, resilience, self awareness and compassion. The ideal support worker will enjoy working with people; you will be enthusiastic, passionate and flexible in your approach which will allow services to be delivered around the unique preferences, strengths and needs of individuals.

You will be part of a team but will also be expected to work independently.
Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is desirable but not essential as there is a range of training provided within the role.

The posts advertised will be part of a rolling rota at the services which involve a variety of shift patterns, early shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts, wakened and sleepovers shifts and also be part of the on-calls rota for the service.

The ALBA Project Assistant will be a key member of the staff team providing support to the ALBA project co-ordinator to ensure the smooth running of the project. The project assistant will manage and maintain the administration of the ALBA training portfolio, the physical activity tracking platform and will be a key contact point for ALBA staff and volunteers and external stakeholders.
