SUPPORT WORKER 2 – Male* (Ref: N439) – Fixed Term for 6 months

£16,151 - £18,440, 37.5 hours per week

We have a vacancy for an experienced support worker 2 based in Bathgate. As a key worker we expect you to establish positive relationships and offer practical and emotional support to the people who use our services and have severe and enduring mental health problems. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a mature and caring attitude and possess excellent listening and communication skills. You should already have extensive experience of working in the field of mental health or social care, and must be able to demonstrate a high degree of skill in report writing, assessing client need and developing professional support plans. SVQ Level II in Social Care or equivalent is highly desirable. Whatever your background, a flexible caring approach combined with good practical skills will be essential. Access to your own transport is required. You should be flexible in the hours you are available to work, which may include weekends, and evenings.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our innovative new Big Lottery funded SoRTED Programme for people who are recovering from drug and alcohol addictions and working towards achieving personal goals. The pioneering approach of the Programme is to support participants to stabilise tenancies, build skills and confidence to engage with other services and realise opportunities in education, volunteering or employment.

Location: SoRTED, Kirkintilloch

Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2018

Working closely with service management you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks including answering telephones, arranging appointments, input and extracting information from systems and database and general word processing.

You will be enthusiastic, self motivated and organised and able to work to deadlines on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will be competent in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. As first point of contact for the service you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be joining a service with the knowledge that you will have a real opportunity to contribute to it’s future development and success.

ARBD Southside Response/ARBD Hoddam

Part time - 25 core contract hours per week but will be required to work additional hours, in addition to core hours, up to 37.5 per week

We have a vacancy for a Support Worker 1 in Glasgow. The successful candidate should be able to establish supportive relationships with service users who have a diagnosed alcohol related brain damage (ARBD). They would offer practical and emotional support. They will be able to demonstrate a solution focused approach to their work and a commitment to developing good team work practice. Some knowledge and experience of ARBD is desirable, as is the ability to work flexibly as required.
