Help to improve young people's mental health in schools

Mhari-Ann

Hi, I’m Mhari-Ann, a member of the SAMH Young People’s Panel. I’m going to give you a small introduction as to what we have been working on in the panel and what we need YOUR help with too!

"We have been working really hard on the panel over the past year to create two completely new ideas; a campaign and an resource which both aim to improve mental health support for young people in schools.

  • The campaign that we are creating, focuses on introducing link workers into secondary schools in Scotland to support young people with their mental health. Link workers would support young people to access services and supports without lengthy waiting times.
  • Co-designing a digital resource that will be available to all schools. It will provide: guidance on best practice and evaluating quality of support; access to surveys and learning resources; and the opportunity to register for SAMH accreditation (for a fee).

Your help

The Young People’s Panel need your help with both our projects to better the support for young people’s mental health in Scotland. We have created a survey for young people aged 10-25, school staff and parents/carers.

Please take 5-10 minutes to support our work by completing this survey and you could be in with a chance of winning a £50 voucher!
