Student mental health

Student mental health is a hugely important issue. While universities and colleges will usually offer mental health and wellbeing support, provision can be inconsistent and patchy between institutions; and demand for services like student counselling is outstripping availability.

And while studying can be an exciting and interesting time, it can also be challenging, and it may affect your mental health at times.

We’re campaigning for better mental health for students, and in recent years have seen fantastic progress, including a commitment from Scottish Government to fund 80 additional counsellors at further and higher education institutions.
