CAMPAIGNS OFFICER (based Glasgow)
One in four people experience a mental health problem. So mental health needs to be central to Scottish life, and SAMH wants you to help us achieve this. As our Campaigns Officer, you will be involved in SAMH’s campaigning at every level. This will include developing, testing and implementing campaigns that aim to improve life for people with mental health problems, as well as facilitating individual participation in campaigning. You will have experience of all aspects of campaigning, as well as excellent communication skills. You will be able to work on your own initiative with minimal day-to-day direction, and you’ll be enthusiastic about working for Scotland’s mental health.

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT (based Glasgow)
Do you love to communicate? Do you have an eye for detail, a way with words and a desire to do a job that really matters? Then we want to hear from you. SAMH, a mental health charity working across Scotland, is recruiting an External Communications Assistant to help us communicate effectively online, in print and in the media.
Experience in a similar role would be great, but it’s more important to have initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Help us to provide the facts about mental health
In October 2011, SAMH/AMHA will open its new Angus Mental Health Resource Centre in Montrose. We have these exciting opportunities for volunteers for this centre which will provide the facts on mental health via telephone, email and face to face contact.
The resource centre volunteer will work in the friendly and relaxed Resource Centre providing an information service to people on services throughout Angus through the provision on leaflets, books, internet and campaign materials.
The volunteer will enable people to make informed choices in their treatment and care by guiding them to resources that may be relevant to their enquiry as well as the factors influencing positive mental health and well being.
With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem at some point in their lives, mental health needs to be central to Scottish life, and SAMH wants you to help us achieve this.
Our new Mental Health Resource Centre will operate 6 days per week and will be staffed by volunteers will provide a walk in source of information on mental health. It will also offer a range of services provided on a voluntary basis by other agencies, including debt management, legal advice, counselling and employability advice.
