In a fantastic victory for campaigners, the House of Lords last
night voted against unfair changes to to the benefits system,
including a one-year time limit on Employment and Support
Allowance.
Instead, the Lords voted for people to receive Employment and
Support Allowance (ESA) for a minimum of two years. This is a
fantastic result for everyone who has contacted members of the
House of Lords or taken part in the Hardest Hit campaign
against unfair cuts.
However, the Government has said that it will seek to overturn
the Lords' decisions: so the fight goes on. Contact your MP and ask
them to
protect benefits for sick and disabled people.
