SAMH is The Scottish Association for Mental Health

The new Welfare Reform Bill threatens the living conditions of people claiming benefits and could damage a founding principle of the welfare state: that people should be able to live with dignity and independence.

The changes to the benefits system can be complex and confusing and could mean significant changes to people's lives.

We believe it is important for people to understand these changes and to know their rights in the new system, so that they receive the benefits they are entitled to when they need them.

We will be holding two Welfare Reform Information Events to inform people about the changes, what they can expect from the new Welfare Reform Bill and what their rights are in the new system.

The events are open to the public as well as to SAMH staff and service users.
