On March 14th, SAMH will hold a special event for
Scotland's employers, as part of its Dismissed? campaign to promote good
mental health in the workplace. We would like to invite you to
attend.
The event will launch our new report, which reveals the often
hidden experiences of employees' mental health at work and
recommends the best ways for employers to make sure their staff get
the support they need.
Official supporters of the
campaign are also invited to attend an networking event, with
drinks and canapés, giving you the opportunity to share your ideas
and experience with other Scottish employers as well as with key
SAMH staff.
If you would like to become an official supporter of the
campaign, there are no costs involved. Simply email us for more
information using the contact provided below.
Last year, we released our report, What's It Worth Now?, which
calculated the staggering costs of poor mental health in the
workplace.
The report, which received national press and TV media coverage,
showed that employers in Scotland lose £2.15 billion every year to
sickness absence, lost productivity and staff turnover as a result
of poor mental health, and gave advice and resources to help
employers prevent these costs.
The financial costs of poor workplace mental health are
alarming, but they also represent the real experiences of workers
in Scotland: experiences revealed in our new report.
