On Thursday 12 February 2009 SAMH unveiled
national hero and quadruple Olympic gold medalist Sir Chris
Hoy as SAMH's first ambassador.
Chris said: "Mental health and physical health work hand in
hand. While achieving four gold medals in Beijing was made
physically possible by years of training, my mental health was
critical to realising my dream."
"Everyone needs to appreciate the importance of good mental
health, and know how to stay mentally healthy".
Sir Chris launched the SAMH Get Active campaign
in April 2009.
